So, what's a guy to do?? Well lucky for us, most of the transistors can be crossed referenced to something you can get from Mouser Electronics. The TTL IC are harder to find, but still possible. The bad side is most of the specialized IC are almost impossible to obtain, but they are out there provided you want to drop the $$$ on getting just one part. The hardest to find yet most needed ICs seem to be the voltage regulators used in the Heathkit power supplies. These sometimes show up in the high end voltmeters and in the SB-104. Knobs, transformers and other cosmetic parts About the only way to get knobs is from a junker. Check Ebay for older parts rigs. Power transformer can be had from Peter Dahl, but they're expensive Those HW-101/SB102 belts Use "O" rings from the hardware store or Pep Boys. Try and bring along one of the older belts to get the size. You want a "O" ring that is not too tight, it will pull the bearings out of the capacitors, yet one that is not too loose.
Power connector for the HW-8 Radio Shack! Yup! This is nothing more than a MOLEX 6-pin connector. You can get some from Mouser Electronics, too.
Probes for the VTVMs Good luck here! The probe sets can run ten times as much as the VTVM.
